1, please be sure your original charger has the same voltage/current and Connector Plug as this charger: 36V 20A, Powerwise Connector Plug, just check the connector size carefully to avoid buying wrong charger. If you made a mistake to buy wrong connector, you can replace the connector plug with your old charger’s connector plug.
2, if you lost your original charger, please just check your battery capacity to be sure you choose the correct charger.

The battery capacity of my golf cart is 36V 40Ah, what kind of charger should I buy
You need 36V 5A charger. 40Ah*0.125=5A (Battery capacity * coefficient of 0.125 is the amperes of the chargers I need.)
